CASE STUDY
ZEBRA
Tandem Aneurysms: IST & Flow Diverted via Zebra
- 75-year-old male with history of extensive cardiac history with quadruple bypass now requiring an aortic valve.
- Patient was incidentally found to have multiple intracranial aneurysms: one multilobulated 11.4mm x 7mm right A1/A2 aneurysm with a daughter sac and one right MCA bifurcation 5mm x 6mm aneurysm with the daughter sac.
- Elected radial approach with 7F Sheath and Zebra 7F 105cm, 5F intermediate catheter over .021" microcatheter and standard wire.
- 2.5mm x 12mm flow diverter was aligned with the A2 aneurysm's neck and carefully deployed.
- Then took an 014" wire and an .017" microcatheter to selectively catheterize the middle cerebral artery aneurysm and deployed a 6mm x 2mm intrasaccular device.
- The patient had no complications from the procedure; total fluoro time = 30min; total procedure <1hr.
