Where did our name come from?

We’re called Q’Apel for the Qu’Appelle River, a waterway that winds through Saskatchewan, Canada. Why? Because this pristine river charts a winding path, full of twists, turns, and straightaways alike. That’s what we do, too. Our cutting-edge products—neurological catheters, specifically—are designed to navigate the twists and turns of the brain’s neurovasculature, empowering therapeutic thrombectomy and cerebral aneurysm devices to deliver life-changing outcomes.

Scott Hosaka

Scott is a versatile Quality executive with more than 30 years of experience delivering high quality products to market. He has a broad functional background having held leadership positions in Quality, Operation, and R&D at established corporations like Guidant, Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly, and Teleflex and numerous venture funded start-ups. Most recently, Scott was Vice President of Quality and Operations at PQ Bypass, Inc. where he was a key member of the core team while incubated at the Fogarty Institute for Innovation and led the start-up and scale-up of Quality and Operations teams to commercial approval of a novel stent graft system designated by the FDA as a Breakthrough Device. Scott holds a BS Biomedical Engineering degree from Northwestern University.
