Where did our name come from?

We’re called Q’Apel for the Qu’Appelle River, a waterway that winds through Saskatchewan, Canada. Why? Because this pristine river charts a winding path, full of twists, turns, and straightaways alike. That’s what we do, too. Our cutting-edge products—neurological catheters, specifically—are designed to navigate the twists and turns of the brain’s neurovasculature, empowering therapeutic thrombectomy and cerebral aneurysm devices to deliver life-changing outcomes.

Jodie Fam

Jodie brings to Q’Apel Medical more than 20 years of medical device industry experience. She has a solid track record in building global and geographical operations, developing and implementing strategies for market development, sales leadership and driving commercial value for both major medtech companies and several venture-backed start-ups. She has been instrumental in bringing a number of early-stage, paradigm-shifting technologies to market in diverse and competitive environments. Jodie was recently CEO at AblaCare and has held top management roles as at Route 92 Medical, Medina Medical (acquired by Medtronic), CardioKinetix and Concentric Medical (acquired by Stryker). In addition, she has held senior clinical, sales and marketing positions with Guidant Corporation, Johnson & Johnson and Mallinckrodt Medical.
